After much urging by friends, we finally decided to see if Croatia was as wonderful as they said. It was! The weather was near perfect, the water crystalline, and everyone was extremely friendly. We arrived in Dubrovnik on June 16 aboard the Bari ferry and stayed three days before heading north along the spectacularly beautiful coastline.

We visited most costal cities and many of the larger islands: Mjlet, Korčula, Hvar, and Rab. Our tour ended in Pula on the Istrian peninsula on June 24th.

The next morning we caught the catamaran to Venice. By the time we arrived at son David's rented Villa outside Florence later that afternoon, we had eaten čvapčići at least six times, and taken more than a dozen ferries. It was a very successful trip.
