These pictures were taken on 7 through 17 July 2002 during a hiking tour of the Western Dolomite region of Northern Italy. (See Dolomiti I for our tour of the Eastern parts.) Hiking statistics for the entire tour, as measured by Laura’s pedometer: 62.04 miles; 22 hours, 54 min.; 127,024 steps; 6,144 calories; 2.71 miles/hr.; elevation gain: 3,501 ft.; loss (8,475) ft. The tour was led by Mario Acciai and his trusty assistant and wine steward Vittorio Natali. In addition to ourselves, the group included: Janet Brookman of Chicago, IL; Jay Helms and Terry O'Loughlin of Concord, CA; Dillon & Mary Ann Hoey of Chicago; Patti Kihm of Datona Beach, FL; and Carol Skellinger of Coeur d'Alene, ID.
